s.Oliver Wurzburg - Bamberg

The official opening of the Germany Bundesliga will take place on tonight's evening completely full Wurzburg arena as all tickets are sold out.

Wurzburg after 2016 season comes with changes. 3 key athletes Ulmer, Lane, Odum and head coach Spradley been replaced by sophisticated coach Dirk Bauermann (former Brose Baskets & German National team) in addition with main chiefs Clifford Hammonds and Robin Benzig they cut the deal with Lithuanian basketball school representatives hustler Lipkevicius and all-inclusive Olisevicius (whose shape curve is rising every year). Moreover solid back-court guy Abdul (ex VEF), Richardson (ex Spirou) and Anderson (ex Antwerp) joined team. It's a pity Wurzburg will miss Anderson as he’s still injured, but the overall of GM work during the off-season might push Wurzburg to the next level among Top 8-12 Bundesliga teams.

Brose Baskets is most dominate Germany basketball club in past decade. But this season they kinda have a fresh kickoff that might take a while to adapt. Notable players grew up and lifted their wings to the elite clubs: Causer (Real), Theis (Celtics), Miller (New Orleans), Strelnieks (Olympiacos), Melli (Fenerbahce) - all Final4 or NBA teams. Looks like a new beginning while adding: Hickman (Armani), Rubit (Ulm), Taylor (Bayern), Quincy Miller (Maccabi), Mitrovic (Zvezda), Hackett (Olympiacos). Brose definitely lost some strength under the basket in the front-court. It's likely they will try to focus on stretching the offence while playing futuristic basketball including Miller & Mitrovic, but on the other hand facing strong opponents no one is going to replace Theis and Melli. That’s a less positive point from Brose’s perspective as Wurzburg weak side today is backcourt line. Generally Brose should start slower and even though they will lack team play and talent of previous seasons they still gonna end up as Top 1-3 competitor in Bundesliga.

Now important moment, these changes should come with a cost and it already did during preparation stage. Meanwhile "They are ahead of us. You are already in the competition mode, have already two official games completed. They did not have the problem that they had to do without a national player in the preparation. Therefore, it becomes a hard matter. We have so far been able to provide three training units with the entire squad. What distinguishes us at the moment is the spirit and soul of some players. " - said Andrea Trinchieri (Brose Baskets).

Bringing up the rear Wurzburg already had official competitions in FibaEurope league and is having a huge moral motivation to make it up for lose in Eurchallenge while being supported in a full-house and having a chance to kick ass of most dominate team in Germany of past decades, despite having a 2-3 days rest (that is enough in season start) while Brose should be searching themselves as most top teams been doing in domestic leagues so far.

Vanoli Cremona vs Milano

photo: vanolibasket.com Opened season in benedetto Italia. Hosts Cremona "The Expendables" Vanoli this season remind me a lot of old friends gang with 2013/14 season’s fresh Capo d'Orlando company in front with nobale legends Basile, Nicevic and Saragna including another charismatic flagman coach Pozzecco. They won 2nd place in Serie A2 and started Lega Basket journey. What happend they brought some youngsters and took 14th spot in upcoming 2014/15 season, but that's on a stats. What really happened they been a tough nut to crack at home while being an average performer (Top10) with 7W and 8L in league in the time beating Milano Armani during the season as well as other tenacious rivals in very small margins, usually below 5 points. What? Yes, hold on I see some parallels 2013/15 Capo d'Orlando and this years Cremona. Cremona brought some "The Expendables" of former Banco di Sassari band. Old man Drake Diener didn't forgot those...

Lietuvos Rytas vs. Bilbao Basket

photo: 15min.lt Two classic Eurocup teams meets again on Wednesday on season opener. The hosts.   Lietuvos Rytas starting from the bottom. Capital team’s fans could hardly remember of good basketball taste back in the Siemens arena. The last averagely least poor season was back in 2014/15. Since then Rytas was having a nightmare both in Eurocup and Lithuania basketball leagues. Loosing 3 out of 4 semi-finals in past years (as till 2015 they haven’t lost any single one) was a quite big deal, so last season the capital’s people even stopped attending to the games. The pre-season.   After another terrible season club president Gedvydas Vainauskas whose rasist thoughts spread out the world fired himself and gave his belly fruit to entrepreneur Antanas Guoga. The ‘philanthropist’ Guoga lightningly fast dedicated sports director seat to noble basketball player Linas Kleiza. There were talks that he also made some colaborations with Jonas Valanciunas and Arvydas M...

BK Valmiera - Latvijas Universitate

photo: http://www.bk.lu.lv Latvia basketball league and for starters we take Valmiera vs. Latvia University game. Might be a possibility that Valmiera cut some budget during the offseason as they gonna start with definitely younger and less experienced roster in front with last mahican Janis Kaufmanis and a charismatic, prospect coach Sandis Valters. ( more info: http://www.bkvalmiera.lv/posts/intervija-ar-valmiera-ordo-galveno-treneri-kristapu-valteru) Latvia’s University - the bottom of bottom teams and they hasn't changed much. I consider them to be more ready in the start of the season as 6 players took a big part of that bronze medal Latvia basketball team in Students Universiade a month ago. What's more during the beginning there's a lot of possibilities to catch some juicy and mysterious odds in Baltic basketball league, team Siauliai (Lithuania) already proved that at the start. I don't want to go here with deep analysis, that been profitable for me ...
